At The Volunteers of Springfield Park, Inc., 2nd Annual Luncheon & Community Service Awards Ceremony. The 1026 Foundation was recognized and honored as an community organization our service within the community. Founder Mel Vail, Jr., accepted the award and multiple citation from local politicians from the New York State Senator Sanders & Senator Leroy Comrie, New York State Assemblyman Khaleel Anderson, Queens Borough President Donavan Richards and The Majority-Whip New York City Councilwoman Selvena Brooks-Powers. Also, awarded The PRESIDENT’S LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD, from the office the President of the United States of America, President Joe Biden.

The 1026 Foundation, proudly sponsored a “Snip-n-Sip,” event for The Brooklyn Math & Research, a public High School in Brooklyn, NY. @BSMARTnow

The event celebrated Anti-Bullying Day and a few young men of the high school were given free haircuts from local barbers. At first the men young men were apprehensive about trying a new barber  but they were slowly encouraged by male their teachers who participated by getting their haircut as well.


 


September 9, 2022

On behalf of P.S. 52 and The 1026 Foundation, we thank you for the school supplies donations for Fall ’22 School Supply Drive.

This year’s drive began later then previous years and we were not able to capture as many donations. Nonetheless, ALL donations were impactful and appreciated by the staff & students of P.S. 52.

There is also need for hygiene packs for boy/girls. If you can, please donate the below needed

100 Hot Meals Served Christmas Eve Day 2021

Friday December 24, 2021

The 1026 Foundation handed out 100 hot meals to the homeless in the subways and on the streets of South Jamaica Queens. The meals were prepared by  Rincon Salvedorano Restaurant @rincon_salvadoreno_restaurant located at 92-15 149th St. Queens, NY 11435. This was also made possible by Jonathan Forgash of Queens Together @qns_together, a nonprofit advocating for Queens restaurateurs impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. 

I took my kids out with and we handed out hot meals and light conversation to those who accepted a warm meal.

On behalf of The 1026 Foundation, we would like to thank all of the supporters who donated school supplies and contributed to our 3rd Annual School Supply Drive for P.S. 52.


As the teachers & staff returned to work today to prepare their classroom and spaces for the kids of P.S. 52, it was an honored to give a small replenishment of supplies. The supplies request list ranged from glue sticks to copy paper not only were all supplies needs were meet, 25 back packs were donated by a corporate donor. These supplies will serve the kids and families in need. Thank you all!


To honor the returning teachers & staff of P.S. 52, The 1026 Foundation was able to give the Teacher’s lounge a new Keurig Coffee Maker with 192 K-cups supply that will be maintained and restocked by The 1026 Foundation. The microwave in the Teacher’s Lounge was not working and needed to be replaced. Gratefully, The 1026 Foundation was able to furnish the Teacher’s Lounge with a new microwave today as well.
